I went through a dramatic spell
Thinking about what happened
It was like a semi-coma
Locked away in my own world
I was deeply disappointed, and I know
The world doesn't stop for me to pull myself together
But I needed to step away
To learn how to put myself back together
Sometimes the wind helps
Blowing away my mistakes
But other times it just disturbs me
Bringing back your scent
There are days when insomnia makes things hard
And I find myself thinking of you
But if I do manage to fall asleep
You're bound to show up in my dreams
I'm changing my paths
Avoiding the old ones
Breaking old habits in my stride
I'm rediscovering myself
I'm running, I'm fleeing
I'm trying to forget you
Finding new places of refuge
I'm rebuilding myself
I'm seeking in other embraces
A love, a friend
Something that makes sense
To fill this void
I turned myself inside out
Then righted myself in desperation
It's been so complicated
Finding that rhythm again
I'm changing my paths
Avoiding the old ones
Breaking old habits in my stride
I'm rediscovering myself
I'm running, I'm fleeing
I'm trying to forget you
Finding new places of refuge
I'm rebuilding myself
I'm seeking in other embraces
A love, a friend
Something that makes sense
To fill this void
I turned myself inside out
Then righted myself in desperation
It's been so complicated
Finding that rhythm again
